Sacramental and Faith Formation
Children’s Catechism Class
Before Sunday Mass, Ravelston offers a catechism class for children of school age. In addition to offering preparation for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion and Confirmation for children not attending Catholic schools, these classes support parents in handing on their faith in a way that is engaging and enjoyable. Classes are taught by parents who are members of the PVG scheme and approved by the Archdiocese Safeguarding team for work with children. Other parents can enjoy a cup of coffee in the parish rooms before joining the parish community for Mass. For more information, contact the parish office.
Adult Formation
The parish rooms adjacent to the church hosts occasional lectures for adults of all ages who would like to learn more about their faith. These address a variety of topics, including Scripture, the Sacraments, Church history and Catholic Social Teaching. Presentations are followed by an opportunity to ask questions, and share experiences before some home made food and light refreshments. For more information, subscribe to the newsletter at the bottom of any page on this website.
Prayer Group
A group of parishioners meet regularly to pray together, exploring a variety of ways of praying and leading devotions at different times of the church year, such as Rosary and Stations of the Cross. To find out more, contact the parish office.
